1.) Violence
This is an issue because the city of St. Louis is one of the most dangerous places in the nation, and it is important for organizations like America SCORES in St. Louis to gets kids off of the street and to learn to read, write and play. I am interested because it involves people at a young age.
2.) Homelessness/Hunger
This is an issue because there is an increasing number of homeless people in St. Louis. It is important for places like the Jewish Food Pantry and Operation Food Search to supply food for these people. This is interesting because of the compilation aspect of the food and then the distribution process.
3.) Going Green
This is an issue because St. Louis is a city and there is bound to be a fair amount of pollution. The Missouri Coalition for the Environment is important not only for maintaining, but also restoring the environment. This is interest because of the focus on restoration and not just maintenance.
